The Whitby Professional FireFighters’ Association is proud to endorse Steve Lee for North Ward Councillor.
Over the years, we’ve developed a strong working relationship with Steve built on open communication, respect, and a shared commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.
Steve has consistently made himself available to listen to the issues that matter to our members and to better understand what is needed as Whitby continues to grow.
As North Whitby and Brooklin have grown, so has the need to ensure our emergency services keep pace.
Steve has supported investments in public safety, including the development of Fire Station 6 and the additional firefighters needed to support it.
But our relationship with Steve goes beyond any single project.
We value his accessibility, his willingness to have open conversations, and the relationship we have built with him throughout his time on Council.
Since first being elected in 2018, Steve has continued to represent North Ward and the people who call it home.

The Whitby Professional Fire Fighters’ Association, Local 2036, is saddened to learn of the passing of retired Deputy Fire Chief and former Local 2036 member Drew Armstrong.
Drew dedicated many years to the fire service and to the Whitby community, serving both as a firefighter and later as a senior leader with Whitby Fire and Emergency Services.
We extend our sincere condolences to Drew’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him throughout his career.
Rest easy, Chief. Your service will be remembered.

Today, members of the Whitby Professional Fire Fighters’ Association were honoured to join Bill’s family at the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Ottawa as we remembered and honoured our Brother, William “Bill” Pleshe.
Bill’s name now stands alongside firefighters from across Canada who dedicated their lives to serving and protecting their communities.
We were especially proud to have members of our Honour Guard there to pay tribute and stand alongside Bill’s family on behalf of his brothers and sisters from Whitby.
Bill’s service, sacrifice, and memory will always remain part of our fire service family.
Rest easy, Brother. We will never forget. 🇨🇦🚒

Twenty-five years ago today, the world changed forever.
On September 11, 2001, 2,977 people lost their lives, including 343 FDNY firefighters who answered the call and never returned home.
Today, the Whitby Professional Fire Fighters’ Association joins firefighters and communities across North America in remembering those who were lost, those who responded, and the families who continue to carry their memory.
We also remember the many first responders who have since lost their lives or continue to live with illnesses connected to their service at Ground Zero.
Twenty-five years later, we remember their courage, their sacrifice, and their service.

Through our conversations with Maleeha, she has shown a willingness to listen, ask questions, and understand the issues that matter to our members and the community. She has always approached our discussions with kindness and respect and has shown an ability to take the high road when faced with difficult situations.
Maleeha understands that as Whitby continues to grow, the services residents rely on need to keep pace. That includes making sure our fire service has the staffing and resources needed to protect the community while keeping our firefighters safe.
Throughout our engagement with her, Maleeha has remained focused on the community and the people she represents. We appreciate the relationship we have built with her and are proud to support Maleeha Shahid for East Ward Regional Councillor.

The IAFF Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery is a one-of-a-kind addiction treatment facility specializing in PTSD for IAFF members – and IAFF members only – who are struggling with addiction, PTSD other related behavioral health challenges to receive the help they need in taking the first steps toward recovery. It is a safe haven for members to talk with other members who have faced or overcome similar challenges.
