The Whitby Professional Firefighters’ Association is proud to endorse Matt Cardwell for West Ward Councillor.
Over the years, we’ve built a strong and longstanding relationship with Matt based on open communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to making Whitby a better and safer community.
Matt has consistently demonstrated that he listens, understands the issues facing our growing community, and is prepared to advocate for the investments and services residents need.
One clear example has been his leadership in championing a new fire station for West Whitby and supporting the firefighters needed to staff it.
As West Whitby continued to grow, Matt recognized the public safety concern and supported a solution that improves emergency response and helps move Whitby toward recognized standards such as NFPA 1710.
But our support for Matt goes beyond any one issue. We value his accessibility, his willingness to have honest conversations, and the strong working relationship we have developed with him over many years.
Matt Cardwell has demonstrated his commitment to West Whitby and to the people who call it home.
We’re proud to support Matt Cardwell for West Ward Councillor.

As Whitby continues to grow, ensuring our fire service has the staffing and resources needed to meet the demands of our community is an important part of keeping residents and firefighters safe.

Being your Whitby Firefighters is about more than responding when the alarm sounds.
It’s also about being apart of the community we serve and being there for the moments that bring Whitby together.
Mayor Elizabeth Roy understands the value of that connection and has consistently supported the work our firefighters do both inside and outside the fire hall.
Strong communities are built by people who show up for one another, and we’re proud to support leadership that shares that commitment to Whitby.

As Whitby continues to grow, so does the responsibility to make sure our fire service is ready to grow with it.
Fire stations in the right locations and a dependable fleet help ensure firefighters can respond when and where they’re needed most.
Mayor Elizabeth Roy recognizes that investing in these essential resources is an investment in the safety of the people we serve.
We’re proud to support leadership that understands what it takes to keep Whitby protected today and prepared for tomorrow.

Your Whitby Firefighters were proud to take part in the annual Mayor and Council Golf Tournament in support of the Mayor’s Community Development Fund.
The Mayor’s Community Development Fund supports local organizations making a meaningful difference in Whitby, and we were grateful for the opportunity to take part in an event that gives back to the community we are so proud to serve.
Thank you to Mayor Elizabeth Roy, Council, organizers, sponsors and volunteers for putting together another great tournament!
